Back on the bike, I wondered: what if I’d been alone? I started Pedalink to help a bystander reach your people when you can’t speak for yourself. A little preparation, so you can enjoy the ride.
Scan your tag, add your details and choose a PIN. Then invite your emergency contacts to confirm on WhatsApp. Your tag is ready to ride with you.
Your tag’s digital profile has no set expiry. It stays active for as long as you wish, unless you deactivate it. Keep the physical QR clean and readable so it can be scanned.
Anyone who scans your tag or has its link can see your public profile. You choose whether to show your age, gender and contact name, and which medical notes to add. Your birth date and PIN stay private.
Yes! Choose Edit Your Tag and sign in with your name and PIN. Your digital profile updates when you save; any wording printed on the physical tag stays the same.
No Pedalink app needed—just a phone browser and internet connection. Calls use your phone service, while WhatsApp messages need WhatsApp and internet access.
Gently clean the QR and try scanning again in good light. Small scratches may still scan, but if the code is hard to read, it’s time to replace the tag.
Contact Pedalink for help. There’s no automatic PIN reset, so we may not be able to restore access. Saving your PIN in a password manager makes it easier to keep track of.
You always press Send in WhatsApp. For a verified contact, Pedalink then forwards an alert with your WhatsApp number and any location you chose to include. For an unverified contact, you message them directly.
Sign in through Edit Your Tag with your name and PIN, then deactivate the lost tag to hide its public profile. Deactivation is permanent. Contact Pedalink if you need a replacement.
They’ll see your name, blood group, any details you chose to share, and ways to call or message your emergency contacts. A new tag opens setup; a deactivated tag hides your details.
Your phone opens its call screen with the selected number ready. You then confirm the call, just as you would for a normal phone call.
No. Someone needs to scan your tag and choose how to help. Pedalink can forward a WhatsApp alert after they send a request, but it doesn’t detect accidents or call emergency services.
Try the secondary contact or send a WhatsApp message. If help is urgent, call local emergency services straight away rather than waiting for a reply.
Choose Edit Your Tag and enter your full profile name and PIN. Capital letters and extra spaces don’t matter. If you update your name, use the new name next time. Keep your PIN just for you.
Sign in with your name and PIN. Deactivate to permanently hide your public profile, or delete to remove your personal details from the live database. The old tag code won’t be reused.
Your birth date stays private and keeps your age up to date. You decide whether your age and gender appear on your profile, and you can change your sharing choices anytime using your name and PIN.
For India, the profile offers 112 for emergency help, 108 for ambulance services where available, and 100 for police. Tap a number and confirm the call. Outside India, use the local emergency number.
