What Pedalink does

A registered QR tag opens rider-provided emergency information and contact options in a browser. Pedalink is not an emergency dispatch, medical verification, diagnosis, or treatment service. Blood type and medical notes are not independently or clinically verified. Pedalink is not a medical device and does not replace professional medical judgement. It does not detect accidents, track live location or automatically alert anyone.

Accuracy and permission

Activate only a tag you own. Provide accurate information, get permission to share contact details, and keep the profile current. Your profile is public to anyone with its URL. Random codes make casual guessing harder; they do not make the information private. Anyone possessing an unactivated QR may claim it first; physical ownership is not independently verified.

Birth date is required for new activations and profile saves. Existing profiles without it remain readable, but their owner must add it when next editing and saving. It is stored privately to calculate current age; age is public only when you choose to share it. Chosen gender is public only when explicitly shared. These values are rider-provided, unverified and not medical verification. Owners can edit these values or delete their profile through private management. These additions require qualified privacy and legal review, particularly for minors; this draft does not claim compliance.

Availability and contact actions

The profile requires internet access. Hardware, connectivity, hosting outages, usage limits, and damaged tags can prevent access. The call button opens the device’s call screen; it does not silently place a call. WhatsApp opens a drafted chat; you choose whether to send it. Calling needs compatible hardware and phone service; WhatsApp needs internet access and a contact who uses it. Built-in QR error correction may help with light damage but never guarantees a scan. There is no guarantee that a contact will answer or help will be dispatched. If immediate assistance is needed, use appropriate local emergency services.

Call 112 for urgent emergency assistance in India. The public profile also offers 108 ambulance and 100 police in its visible emergency-services card. 108 coverage and operation may vary by state or Union Territory. 100 is a familiar legacy police number; 112 is the preferred unified option. Pedalink sends no location or incident details and does not dispatch or control responders. Outside India, call the local emergency number.

Protecting access

Anyone knowing your name and PIN can edit, deactivate or delete your profile. Your name is public; choose a longer, unique PIN and keep it private. There is no automatic PIN reset or phone recovery. PIN verification has no attempt lockout or rate limit in this phase. Deactivation is permanent; codes are never recycled. Deactivation hides your public profile while retaining it privately. Deletion removes personal data from the live database, subject to the backup limits explained in the privacy notice. Digital changes do not alter manufactured text.
