Terms of use

Pedalink helps someone reach your emergency contacts and find the information you choose to share. Here’s what to expect when using your tag.

What Pedalink does

Your QR tag opens a public profile with rider-provided information and ways to contact someone for help. After a helper sends a request to Pedalink, we relay an alert to the selected contact if they have a current agreement to receive it.

Pedalink does not detect accidents, continuously track location or dispatch responders. It is not a medical device or a service for diagnosis, treatment or medical verification.

Blood type and health notes are not clinically verified. They do not replace professional medical judgement. If help is urgent, contact the appropriate local emergency service directly.

Your details and permissions

• Activate your own tag. An unactivated QR can be claimed by whoever has it first; we do not independently verify physical ownership.
• Keep information accurate. Review your details and contact numbers when they change.
• Ask your contacts first. Get permission to add their details. Automated WhatsApp alerts require their separate verification and agreement.
• Choose what you share. Anyone with the QR or link can view the profile. Random links make guessing harder, but do not make it private.

Your birth date is stored privately to calculate age and is required when activating or saving a profile. Age and gender appear only if you choose to share them. These details, like the rest of the profile, are rider-provided and unverified. See our privacy notice for details about storage and sharing.

Calls, messages and location

• Calls: a call button opens your device’s call screen. You choose whether to call and need a compatible device and phone service.
• WhatsApp: a button opens a prepared message. You must press Send in WhatsApp; opening the chat alone does not send an alert.
• Unverified contacts: use the direct-call or direct-WhatsApp options. Pedalink cannot send them automated alerts without their agreement.
• Location: a helper can allow browser access and add their current location to the message. Sharing is optional, and Pedalink does not store the coordinates or continuously track the helper.

Profiles and WhatsApp need internet access. Network problems, service outages, usage limits or a damaged QR can interrupt access or delivery. QR error correction may help with light damage, but cannot guarantee a scan.

An alert does not guarantee the contact has read it or can respond. Use direct contact options if needed, and do not wait for Pedalink when urgent assistance is required. The emergency-service buttons connect to the displayed numbers; Pedalink does not operate or control those services. Use numbers appropriate to your location.

Third-party maps and hospital information

Pedalink may provide links to third-party mapping services, including Google Maps, as a convenience to users. These services are independently operated and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. See the Google Terms of Service and Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms.

Hospital listings, locations, distances, operating hours, contact details, ratings, reviews, photographs and directions are supplied by Google Maps or its data providers. Pedalink does not create, control, independently verify, recommend or guarantee this information.

The appearance of a facility in search results does not confirm that it is open, nearby, reachable, equipped for emergencies or suitable for a particular medical condition. Users should contact the facility or local emergency services when appropriate. This feature must not delay contacting emergency services or obtaining urgent medical assistance.

Managing your tag

Use Edit/Verify your tag with your name and PIN to manage your profile. Anyone who knows both can change or delete it, so choose a longer, unique PIN and keep it private. Repeated sign-in attempts are temporarily limited to reduce guessing. If you forget your PIN, use Forgot PIN to request help. Recovery is manually reviewed and, where available, a single-use reset link is sent to the WhatsApp number already saved with your profile. It expires after 48 hours; access cannot be guaranteed if you cannot use that number.

• Edit: update your online details and sharing choices. Changes do not alter text already printed on the physical tag.
• Deactivate: permanently disable the tag and hide its public profile. Its information stays privately stored until you delete it.
• Delete: remove your personal profile and sign-in records from the live database. The tag code cannot be reused. Other record-retention details are explained in the privacy notice.

Tag requests and delivery

Eligible requests are currently free under the launch promotion, which continues until Pedalink announces its end. Each request is for one tag.

• Delivery: delivery charges apply and are quoted on WhatsApp for your approval before dispatch. Self-pickup is available only when personally agreed; an admin label alone does not confirm a pickup arrangement.
• Confirmation: confirms that we received your request, not that the tag has shipped. Delivery arrangements are confirmed personally.
• Payments: the order form does not collect payment. Donations are optional and separate from tag or delivery charges.

To cancel or change a request, report a damaged or incorrect tag, or discuss a delivery payment or refund, contact us using your order reference. Availability, dispatch and any remedy must be confirmed with you; no delivery date is guaranteed by the request form. Nothing here removes any consumer rights or remedies that apply by law.

Responsible use and young riders

Use Pedalink only for genuine tag management, feedback and requests for help. Do not guess PINs, scrape medical profiles, submit another person’s information without permission, send false alerts, or interfere with the service. Access may be temporarily restricted to protect riders and contacts.

If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian to review the service and the public sharing of your details with you before creating a profile or requesting a tag. Do not upload someone else’s photo or review unless you have permission to share it. Pedalink currently has no dedicated verified-parental-consent process.

Service changes and your rights

Pedalink depends on internet access and third-party services. Features, availability and the launch promotion may change. Material changes to these terms will be published here with an updated date; an existing delivery arrangement should be discussed with you before it changes. You may stop using the service and delete your profile through Edit Your Tag.

These terms explain the service’s limits; they do not exclude responsibility or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. They do not promise that a scan, alert or contact will prevent injury or provide medical assistance.
